Ready, set, pedal!
If you ask me, there’s nothing like a good bike ride. And perhaps the only thing better than cycling with friends, is cycling, with friends, free of vehicles of the four (or more) tire variety!
Lucky for me, I found 8 other souls who thought a 32 mile ride from Ventura to Ojai sounded like a good way to spend a Saturday morning. The Ventura River Trail connecting coastal city to artsy agricultural town, provides an amazing opportunity for walkers, joggers, and cyclists to experience a mixture of landscapes, outdoor art pieces, and industrial spaces. It’s a good representation of So. Cal, if you ask me; a little bit of everything within an hour and a half drive…or in our case, ride. As the tradition goes, once the 16 mile trek to Ojai is accomplished, it’s time to sit back and chat over a good meal at the Ojai Cafe Emporium. True to fashion we ate, drank, and shared lots of words and laughter. A big thanks to all who braved the unusually hot for October weather and made the journey from Ventura to Ojai and then back again.
