This wasn’t an official GLS event but it was still a groovy thing to do. Some of us hikers joined the Friends of Griffith Park at the GP visitors’ center area to do weeding and planting.
My councilwoman Nithya Raman and then FoGP President Gerry Hans gave opening remarks and gratitude for our help… and then we got great lessons on how to actually do the planting.
Huge turnout for this event — including lots of kids. I remember cleaning up trash at my grade school on the VERY FIRST Earth Day back in 1970. Here’s to the next generation learning how important it is to take care of Mother Earth.
