Tapia to Malibu Creek State Park, April 5, 2025

By Nancy Beverly

Chilly start to the morning, but then the temps warmed up and it turned out to be a perfect day for hiking as we went from the Tapia Spur Trail over to Malibu Creek State Park.

We had eight happy hikers and we all had a field day admiring the lush green hillsides thanks to recent rains and snapping photos of the geese we encountered along the way. They seemed happy to pose for several minutes, and then they took off in flight.

We said hi to Century Lake and then it was over to the Rock Pool where we saw some young folks navigating actual rocks to get around the pool — it was a miracle they didn’t fall in.

Big thanks to Heidi for leading and Barb for sweeping!
