Item 1 – Pride Month
It was suggested by Morgan Goodwin, Senior Director of the Angeles Chapter, that we do something for Pride month. We could perhaps focus on outings, provide a history of GLS, etc. An outing in conjunction with the Long Beach Pride Parade on May 19th was proposed.
Item 2 – Outings
Two outings were discussed: Mt Pacifico on June 1st, and Three Points to Cloudburst Summit on the PCT (out and back) on June 29th. Some possibilities for July were discussed as well.
Item 3 – Third Act
Third Act is an organization of politically active, mature people. Tom joined them and is talking to them about possibly joining GLS hikes. They are primarily interested in shorter hikes.
Item 4 – Kathy’s Bench
Nancy emailed the Parks department about the need to replace the plaque on Kathy’s Bench in Griffith Park. She is having difficulty getting Parks to honor their agreement to replace it if defaced or stolen. In the interest of continuing to honor Kathy in this way, GLS may go ahead and purchase and install a replacement plaque ourselves.
Item 5 – Financials
Tammie reviewed financials for the outings account and the general account.
Item 6 – Listserv Access
Laura tried to get access, but is continuing to have difficulty. She will try again to determine how to gain access to publish content to the listserv.
Item 7 – Wilderness First Aid Reimbursement
Laura wanted to remind everyone that Wilderness First Aid courses for leaders is partially reimbursable by the Sierra Club.

The next management committee meeting is scheduled for July 11th at 7pm.
