We had an amazing turn-out of 18 hikers on the December 8th late morning Mt. Wilson Trail hike. Jim A. led us up the trail to “First Water” and down into the canyon, where we got to sit beside the burbling creek. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cool. We made our way back down to the cars so that many of us could then attend the GLS annual holiday potluck party.
This time, as was the case last year, we got to use the Nature Friends facility, thanks to Jim, who is the president of that group. We also had a large crowd two dozen+ friends attend the party — a few newbies and lots of old-timers. Great food and stunning outdoor photos (entered in our yearly photo contest) were part of the fun. Special shout-out to Jeff Johnson for organizing the party and photo display — he came up with a new and easy way of voting for our fav pix using push-pins, yay!
