Earlier in the week before our hike to San Gabriel Peak and Mt. Disappointment, the weather forecast said there was a chance of rain. But as each day passed, the chance got slimmer and slimmer until… NO RAIN on hike day! Yay! HOWEVER, there were a ton of clouds, so we all had a field day snapping photos of the dramatic formations in the sky.

We had a lovely turnout of 12 hikers, some of us were old-timers, some were newbies to GLS. Not everyone went all the way to the tippy-top, and that was a-okay. For those who did, we hiked a smidge under six miles and it was a good workout up to 6164 ft. — that would be to San Gabriel Peak, the taller of our two summits. Yeah, its neighbor got the name “Disappointment” because it turned out not to be the tallest peak in the ‘hood.

Thank you, Jen for doing a great job of leading and keeping an eye on everyone!
